Finally my PalauUpdate!!! I had to get through the end of the semester before I had time to sitdown and get it done. Palau was amazing to say the least. We left onThanksgiving Day right after the annual PIU Thanksgiving meal. We arrived inPalau around 5:30pm and after dinner at the Famous Burgerjoint the "Bem Ermii" we stopped to get an internet phonecard and met two girls from Ponepei who were currently attending PalauCommunity College and told them about PIU and they both were very interestedand one of them showed up Sunday to the English Service. We sat outside withHedrick and Hyob (Pastor's at Koror Evangelical Church and former Professor,and Alumni of PIU) and talked for a while then slept early so we could getrollin in the morning. That morning I had and appointment with a Chinesestudent who was a senior at Bethania Evangelical Seminary which is a privateall girls High School on Palau. She wishes to come to PIU next Fall and isworking on her visa to come this Christmas for a campus visit. Then we headedover to Palau Community College where our PIU Teaching Facility is located sothat I could interview an applicant to oversee the TF. After the interview weheaded out to the villages and were able to talk with students at Bethania HighSchool. I also got to stop by my Pastor's house in Ngerelong and got to meethis family they fed us FISH! We were able to meet many young people whoare working construction or at their parents stores or just relaxing. They wereall very interested and we were able to get their contact info and gave thembrochures and applications to them. We also went to a Softball and VolleyballTournament where we were able to meet a few students and some very importantpeople in the Island. That night we were invited to the Emaus High School (allboys Christian High School Run by the church) to join their ThanksgivingDinner. Got to catch up with one of our Alumni and talk with many futurecollege students who showed great interest in our school. Saturday we hitthe road again meeting many possible students and more important people. Onelady we met was a famous Christian singer in the islands and thePresident of Palau's sister. She had just finished White Ribbon Day to raiseawareness about Domestic Violence and gave a call to all the men to take astand and be good husbands and fathers. She also just gotsome legislation passed to help with this issue. We were unable tomeet with the President because he was in Israel but, we did leave someinformation and brochures with the Vise President. When we got home that nightwe had been on the road for 12 straight hours. On a tiny island that is alot ofdriving!! Our Driver Balku (one of our students uncles) agreed to drive usaround and he said he had never driven that much in his life and was so tiredhe went to bed without dinner and for Micronesian's that never happens! Sundaymorning was our last day there and we joined the Palauan service and were ableto share some with them. The English service was immediately following and wealso shared there and some of the students we met came to the service. It was agreat weekend and we got 34 students information who are interested in coming.Most of them will graduate in May so they will come in Fall 2012. We hadmany students graduating this Fall and have many open spaces we need to fillfor January so please join us in Prayer that God will bring us the students weneed and begin preparing their hearts now. 13 out of 16 states covered in twodays Great Is Thy Faithfulness!!!!

Upcoming Palau Trip: January 24th-31st I will return with a couple others from PIU to recruit some more students and follow up on the ones already contacted. We will be presenting in the High Schools and attending the youth rally at the Korror Church.

Purity Ceremony

This semester has been full of God's Grace and Blessings and one that tops them all this semester is the Purity Retreat I had the privilege to experience with my girls. Purity is a topic that for the most part is not an open topic here in the islands for discussion even among churches but, it is a topic I felt we should dive into. Karyn Sorenson who is one of our Faculty Members here at PIU was so awesome to step in and teach the girls on this topic. She is a counselor here at PIU and has much experience in this area and has gone through purity commitments with her own children as well. Last year around February we began a series of Purity talks with the girls and began praying about what God would have us do with the information we have been given. As we got into this semester and the girls began to seek the Lord's guidance in this area they approached me and asked if we could do the ceremony because they were ready to make their commitments to God. Karyn and her husband Eric were called by God to pastor a church in California so she was unable to join us this semester however, God provided a way for her to come out and while she was on island finishing up her class that she was teaching was also able to finish the Purity talks and host the Ceremony with the girls. So two weeks ago on Wednesday November 23, 2011 13 girls participated in the Purity Ceremony. Some were able to have their parents present and others had friends and sisters in Christ to witness their commitments. We gave the girls the task of writing their own commitments and were completely blown away by the depth and hard work they put into these. They were real and personal and reflected accurately what God was in fact doing in their lives. I personally have never witnessed anything like this and was completely intimidated by what they wrote. I didn't know what to expect at the ceremony and was blown away by the work of the holy Spirit in these girls lives. Below are some Pictures from the ceremony and I want to thank first of all God for all He has done in these beautiful daughters of His!!! Also I wanna say thank you to Karyn for giving of her time to come and minister to us and to those of you from Grace Baptist Church in Salado, Texas for sponsoring each girl's ring. Also to Joyce Owen, thank you for letting us crash your house last minute for our retreat!!! And to Meluat our professional photographer, we cannot thank you enough for your time and the great pictures you took for us!!!

Okay! I promised not to delay on my posts but I am GUILTY!!! I am sitting at my computer right now working on my next update and soon to follow will be the blog update!!! I will Lord willing try harder to keep you all updated on what God is doing here at PIU!!! I can honestly say He is doing so much and keeping me glued in His Word that my time is spent with Him!!! That I am not sorry for I am lovin Him more everyday. But, you all are so important in this calling so I will make it my ambition to stay on top of this blog stuff!!! Love you all!!!

Here is the 2010 PIU Basketball Team!!!! We stared practice this week and will play our first game on Saturday October 2nd. We have been praying for a league to play in because the league we normally play in was not going to happen this year. God answered our prayers and we have a league to play in!!! Last year we as a school saw God do huge things through our basketball team. God added one to His kingdom and is using him to help grow other students in their love for Him. We don't have much time before our season starts and because all the students just had to pay their tuition for the semester there isn't much left over for uniforms. Each player will need $50 for their uniforms. I already have 2 families that are interested in sponsoring players and still need 13 more. I ask that you pray bout this and also lift our team up asking God to move in the hearts of these students. We are so blessed to have a culturally diverse team this year. I love it!!!!

Long Week!!

Started off this week getting robbed again for the second time in the past 8 days! But, not before an awesome time in the Word with the girls!!! Ha! Satan you'r a BIG Panty Waiste and Ha ha ha ha I know your future and I'm so pumped about it!!!! This time the creeps came in the dorm with students in there. But, no one was hurt and God used it. I have been staying up with our security guard trying to catch these guys and keep the girls safe. God has been faithful in giving me strength to stay awake and get sleep that I need to function. I just found out today that we will be able to get into a league for basketball and we will be starting on October 2nd!!! The guys are so excited so be in prayer for God's provision for uniforms. We will start practice on Monday!

Scuba Diving For The First Time!!!!

Today I tried out diving for the first time!!!! It was awesome except that I learned that I do not sink very well. lol Some of our professors took some of the students out to try out breathing underwater and they all loved it!! They did great I got to follow them around and take pictures. What a cool day!!! It ended with our first study of Romans in devotion tonight!!! I love studying the Word with these awesome women of God!!!

His Word!!

I was in Romans 1:1-17 this morning and wanted to share with you what God is dealing with me on. I am here as a missionary but, have been challenged with not sharing Christ outside PIU. Paul, writes that the Gospel is the power for Salvation so why are we ashamed if we know its power? I have been struggling with this question. If we truly believe Jesus is the only Way, Truth and Life then why are we so ashamed. I use shame because i believe it is a fruit of sin and I believe we don't share because of sin in our lives whether it be pride, unconfessed sin, or that maybe what we say we truly believe is not in fact what we truly believe. Just something to think about. My prayer today is that I would have a passion and zeal for God and His Word!! I never meet a stranger but that I would never meet a person who has never heard the Gospel!!!

Over the past two years I have not updated this blog but now I am planning on trying a note daily on here. So we will see ho wit goes. Today was awesome!!! Started off my day with hot water for my shower which was a huge blessing! Then it was off to Church with a van full of Palauans and Chuukese. Palau Evangelical Church is where I attend church here on Island. The Pastor is Andrew Immanuel and he brought the Word for sure this morning. (Phillipians 3:17-21) During service I had to help some Palauan students who grew up in Yap out with translating Palauan to English for the Chuukese students to understand. After Church a Church member who is also a student at PIU treated all teh students in the van to Lunch at McD's. Got some homework done and headed out to drop the Chuukese students at Chuukese Church. Did a run to the airport to take one of our English teachers to catch a flight to go teach English in Chuuk for a week. Then finished the night off with PIU Staff and Faculty potluck and prayer meeting. Great time of worship and prayer with coworkers. Love serving with these folks!! We spent a good amount of time praying for the students which I love to do!!! What and awesome day!!!!! Oh, did I mention I got to talk to my mom and that made it even better:)
